Noussair Mazraoui is set to become a Manchester United player after Bayern Munich agreed to let him travel to Manchester to complete his transfer.

This is according to Footmercato journalist Santi Aouna, who posted on X:

“IT’S ALMOST A DONE DEAL. Noussair Mazraoui will join Manchester United.

“Bayern Munich authorized Noussair Mazraoui to join MU. The Moroccan right back will take private flight in the next days.

“If nothing changes, medical test booked on Tuesday.

“Contract valid until June 2029 + one year in option.

“Erik Ten Hag wants Mazraoui for the the Community Shield.”

United have been pursuing the Dutch-born Moroccan as cover for Diogo Dalot at right back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka looking set to join West Ham.

Mazraoui, like Dalot, can also cover at left back.

He is yet another incoming star from the Ajax stable, a very familiar hunting ground for Ten Hag, who has already brought in Andre Onana, Antony, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen, with Matthijs de Ligt likely to follow.

The 26 year old joined Bayern in 2022 and has played 38 games for the Bundesliga giants. He is also an experienced international, having 28 caps for Morocco.

It was reported yesterday that United had made a joint bid to Bayern for the Moroccan and centre back De Ligt, which was turned down by the Germans. Both players are represented by Rafaela Pimenta, who took over the portfolio of the infamous superagent Mino Raiola when he passed away.

If Santi Aouna’s report is accurate, it almost certainly means that Wan-Bissaka’s move to West Ham is likely to follow. He is currently on the US tour and could play his last game for United later tonight when they take on Liverpool.
