Ex-Manchester United starlet Shola Shoretire has reportedly snubbed interest from England and Spain as he edges closer to a move to Greek outfit PAOK.

Shoretire left United at the end of the 2023/24 season, following the expiration of his Old Trafford deal.

He was a highly-rated youth prospect during his time in the academy and went on to make five senior appearances for the club.

Shoretire set a club record in 2021 when he became United’s youngest-ever player in Europe, having featured in a 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad.

He had become United’s seventh-youngest player ever when he came on in place of Marcus Rashford during a match against Newcastle in 2021.

The 20-year-old also wore the highest shirt number ever (74) for a United player in a competitive match.

His last appearance for the Red Devils came during United’s last clash of the 2022/23 Premier League season vs. Crystal Palace. On that occasion, Shoretire got 15 minutes of action.

He would proceed to spend time out on loan with Bolton.

United made efforts to try and convince Shoretire to sign a new deal and extend his stay with them but he turned down all their offers.

Fabrizio Romano has now given an update on Shoretire’s future and revealed that he’s one step away from signing for PAOK.

Romano wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Greek side PAOK have reached verbal agreement to sign former Man United talent Shola Shoretire.”

“Despite interest from England, Spain, MLS and Saudi clubs, Shoretire is now expected to travel & sign next week.”

“Shoretire, available as free agent after leaving Manchester United.”

PAOK won the Super League Greece last term.
