Pierre Gasly is set to drop to the back of the grid for the British Grand Prix, with Alpine swapping out a host of power unit components in his car ahead of the Silverstone event.
Gasly has taken on a fifth Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Turbocharger (TC), Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H) and Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K), breaching the limit of four for the season.

The recently re-signed Frenchman has also been given a third Control Electronics unit, with two of those elements allowed over the course of the campaign.
As per F1’s regulations, should a driver use more power unit elements than the number permitted, a grid place penalty will be imposed upon them at the first event where each additional element is used.
